So I've always been a fan of photo recreations. There's something so amusing and captivating about seeing the side-by-side comparisons of youth and age. These are a few of my favorites from around the net:

When I decided this would be my first photo recreation, I contacted my uncle, Eliot Goldfinger, the only man for the job. Eliot is a genius on a lot of levels. Besides "being an artist known for his work with anatomy and his 1991 reference book Human Anatomy for Artists: The Elements of Form,"* he is an accomplished photographer, gardener, sculptor, and successful at being a weird uncle.

So I called him and described what I wanted to do. He sounded excited but I had no idea the lengths he would go to. When I drove to his house in New Rochelle, he showed me how he had recreated my childhood kitchen in his basement by replacing door handles, rearranging furniture and laying down new tile.

blog post #2

This is a picture of myself at age 3 or 4, rocking my plastic telecaster (upside down like Hendrix, mind you) in my tighty whities, hood up, looking like a boss. I set my sites on recreating this epic moment in time---not like much has changed since then. Is that sad or awesome? Tell em your opinion on my facebook fan page:

A few hours later, and we had the shot. The final result?

What do you think? Please share and comment on my facebook page!

Special thanks to aunt Louise "Weezie" Edeiken for the moral support and feeding the troops
